The difference between customers and prospects
Updated on February 5th, 2024
Customers and Prospects are almost identical except for these differences:
- Customer accounts are for businesses that have actually bought something from your business
- Prospect accounts are for businesses that you might have created estimates for but they haven’t yet bought anything
Once a prospect actually buys something from you, they will automatically become a customer. This can happen two ways:
- You created an estimate (which they approved) so you converted that estimate into an invoice
- You simply created an invoice for the Prospect
Either of the two actions above will result in a prospect being converted into a customer.
