Big Updates for August 2013

During the month of August, to say we’ve been busy would be an understatement. SalesBinder went through some very major upgrades to proactively improve a large number of things, such as performance, reliability, scalability, security, PDF document rendering, API features, and a lot more.

Here’s some of the major highlights worth mentioning:

Network Infrastructure Upgrades:

The entire SalesBinder network infrastructure was changed to allow for greater reliability and scalability – all while keeping our services online during the transition. This was the single largest network upgrade ever completed by our team and we’re extremely pleased with the outcome. SalesBinder now has even more redundancies for everything, from load balancers, database servers, application servers, even to redundant data backups. Things should load faster, can scale quicker, and if hardware fails, SalesBinder still won’t skip a beat.

A Brand New Full Featured SalesBinder API:

We’ve been working on expanding our API for a quite some time now and we’re pleased to announce we released our full featured API earlier this month after an extended beta testing period. Our new API now allows for full, secure access to your SalesBinder data. You can view/add/edit/delete almost everything within your account as well as do some cool things now, like integrating SalesBinder into your website, shopping cart, 3rd party software or even build your own mobile applications and always have your data stay in sync. For more information on our expanded API, check out our updated API documentation here.

Entirely New PDF Rendering Engine:

We released a completely new PDF rendering engine for saving your invoices, estimates, purchase orders, packing lists, etc. This new engine generates clearer PDF files and is much smarter for handling multi-page PDF’s. For example, if an invoice contains many items and requires more than one page, the line items will break nicely and then continue on the next page while placing the column headings back on top to make things easier to read.

Other New Features Worth Noting:

  • Login sessions are now saved for 24 hours
  • You can now change the customer/prospect for saved invoices/estimates
  • Much better international language support for saving PDF files
